When does the season run? Our season runs from the first Monday in August and lasts until early November, plus playoffs if eligible. We practice 10 hours a week before Labor Day and six hours a week after Labor Day. Games are usually on Sundays but Saturday evening/night games are a possibility due to field and referee availability. You will find that Pop Warner Football is a major commitment for both player and parents. When is the paperwork due? All paperwork is due before first practice. PLAYERS WILL NOT RECEIVE EQUIPMENT OR UNIFORMS UNTIL ALL PAPERWORK IS HANDED IN AND CORRECT. If you're a returning player you need to bring: * Three, readable photocopies of the final 2008-2009 report cards, not required for Flag or Mitey-Mite division When: the day you get your equipment. * A completed Pop Warner 2009 Physical form. It must be stamped and signed from the Doctor. When: The first night of practice (August 2009), your child cannot begin practice without it. If you're a new player you need to bring: * An original Birth Certificate with raised seal and one photocopy. When: At registration. * A recent wallet sized photo. When is equipment handout? Is scheduled for August 8th, please check our site for updates. When are Physicals held? Physicals will be held on: · July 11th from 9am until noon at the Elks lodge · July 18th @ Healthwave Chiropractic located on 3100 Bridge ave Point Pleasant Boro, please call in advance 732-714-9557. Can my family doctor complete the physical? Yes, any New Jersey licensed doctor can complete the physical, but the Pop Warner physical form must be completed, stamped and signed. Forms must be dated after January 1st 2009 What do I do if I missed the initial registration and want to sign my child up? To sign up after we held registration you must go to a general meeting. What equipment do I provide? Parents must provide the following equipment: Football
* Mouth pieces (other than the initial one which is provided by the organization) * Athletic supporter and cup * Football shoes Cheer
* Lollypops “briefs” * Body Suit * Sneakers and Socks will be available on “sneaker night” * Competition Tee-Shirt and hair bow How are teams and squads assembled? They are to be determined by the Directors of both Cheer and Football. Can my child be a part of GEPW without living in town? Yes, your child can be a part of GEPW if they live outside our boundaries. A waver form must be completed and handed into our league, we sill sign the document and forward it to your towns Pop Warner for approval. The form can be downloaded and printed from the "Forms" page of our website. How do I get a refund if my child decides not to play? Refunds are given with no questions asked, up until August 15th. Refund requests are to be in writing on a refund request form (which can be found on the Golden Elks pop Warner web-site) and mailed to: Golden Elks Pop Warner P.O. Box 881 Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 Refunds before the deadline will be for 100% of enrollment, the $50 buyout or raffle tickets will still be due and non-refundable, your child will still receive there personalized Jersey or warm-up suit. What do I need to do if my child gets hurt during the season? * Notify your child’s Head Coach. * Head Coach will fill out an injury report. * Head coach will give it to a board member who will process it. PLEASE NOTE: The Golden Elks Pop Warner carries insurance for such incidents but it is also important that you understand and follow the process of medical claim submission. If an injury does occur you should let the head coach know immediately. They will give you an accident report to fill out. Please be advised that the Pop Warner insurance is always secondary to any other insurance coverage you may have. This means that you must submit all associated medical bills to your primary insurance carrier first. If there are still balances due after the primary insurance makes their payments, you must submit the balance due bills along with a fully completed claim form to the Golden Elks Pop Warner. Box 881 Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 All claims must be submitted to our insurance company within 90 days of the injury so it’s important that you follow-up on all bills in a timely matter. When are the General Membership meetings? All General Membership meetings are the first Wednesday of each month. Check our web-site for any updates on meeting dates and times. How can I volunteer my time for the Golden Elks Pop Warner? There are several ways you can volunteer your time to help our organization. There are several committees that are always in need of help. Some of these committees are snack stand, fund raising, team moms, and field set-up & break down, chain gang, etc. If you would like to become part of our Pop Warner Team, please call us at 732-475-2455.
