2012 Pop Warner Eastern Region All-American Scholars Announced
As stated by the National Pop Warner Football Organization, "Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for Academic All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level. In 2011 over 400,000 kids participated in Pop Warner. As our numbers once again reached record levels, a record number of All-American Scholar applications were once again submitted to us...more than 9,700 applications! The PWLS All-American Program requires a minimum 96% grade point average to apply for All-American status. After the applications have been processed, Pop Warner determines National First Team All-Americans (35 football, 35 cheer per grade), National Second Team All-Americans and National Honorable Mention Scholars."

Luke is currently a 5th grade student at Nellie Bennett School in Point Pleasant Boro. His academic performance during the 2010-11 school year qualified him to be considered for the All-American Scholars Program. Luke was selected as a 2012 Pop Warner Eastern Region Scholar! His application now moves on to the National Pop Warner All-American Scholar review board. The review board will post its final selection on the National Pop Warner website www.popwarner.com by April 1, 2012. Good luck to Luke as he moves through the process and represents the Golden Elks!!
